Thanks to the world of digital shopping, there are hundreds of different brands available out there that you can purchase. Believe it or not, the process of buying a desktop, laptop, a printer, or even just ink cartridges can be completely overwhelming at times. This is because all of the companies selling the products tend to use highly technical words, and unless you’re in the business of technology, you likely have no idea what they’re talking about. We’ll talk about the Epson and Brother brands here to assist you in choosing which brand is right for you.
Epson
Epson is a company that makes its home out of Japan. It began creating watch parts back in 1942 and has since expanded to manufacture a variety of technological products, including printers. They developed a dot matrix printer that reached surprisingly high levels of popularity back in 1978, and they’ve been creating many of the most popular printers available on the market since then.
Buying an Epson printer also gets you a printer from company with experience, since they’ve been manufacturing printers for over thirty years. Their printers and ink cartridges are known for creating high quality images and for lasting a very long time. Between their wireless offerings and how sturdy their units are, these printers are very popular, and can be seen in both homes and businesses.
Brother
Much like Epson, Brother Industries is also based in Japan. Their company began in 1908 when the founder decided to begin creating and selling sewing machines. After that, they slowly expanded, and became known for their printers, fax machines, ink cartridges, typewriters, and other various electronics.
Brother printers are sometimes seen as being the less expensive printer option, but that doesn’t mean that they’re cheap by any means. Brother printers sometimes do have a less sturdy casing, but their insides work just as well as their more expensive counterparts. You generally don’t see their printers in the business world since they tend to be geared for personal use, or at best, home office use. But, these printers are definitely great for home use.
Down to the Choice?
As it turns out, choosing between Epson and Brother isn’t really all that hard. Since Epson printers are designed to be able to print at a high frequency, even several times a day, Epson is the often the choice for those looking for a business or home office printer. If you want to guarantee that you can get the most from your Epson brand printer, you should buy high quality Epson ink cartridges. For home use at a great price, though, Brother printers beat Epson printers. Both their printers and their ink cartridges tend to be on the inexpensive side. If you are looking to purchase a printer for your home, both Epson and Brother are great options, although Epson does tend to have the wireless market covered a bit more thoroughly than Brother currently does, but that can all change very quickly, as Brother has always been a contender in the technology market.
